Week 30: Josh's 42 posts hit 6000 views!!!!!!!

1. What do you cook for yourself to eat? I usually eat chicken and rice!!!
2. What was the most interesting experience you had this week?? We are trying to get two guys baptized.
3. How are your investigators doing? Super good !!! We are working on it!!
4. How's your Chinese now that you have a Chinese companion? Getting tons better. My companion is cool.

Hey everyone! Well,  this week has been hard. My translator is broken and they don't believe in warranties so it will be quite a while before I am able to afford to buy another one!! We are just working super hard out here!!! Our two investigators are L.D and K. Both have things they are trying to work through but boith want to get baptized so that's what we are trying to do!!! Working super hard to get that!!! I loved the  care package and President Eyring's book called "Faith of a Scientist." It was honestly super awesome. It helped me look at things from that perspective a lot so any other books about science and faith are welcome!!! I hear everything is going well with Jacob and his flash mob!!! Congrats to Springville football team and for Cassie for starting a new school. I sent a package and wow did it cost a arm and a leg !! I am poorer than anything right now!!! Nothing else is new. My chinese is getting tons better . The chinese really know nothing about construction and that's the service I have been doing so I really miss freaking Alex Tarin. love you all so much . I am just working hard ya know.

Week 29: Next Week Will Be Better

This was a frustrating week for Josh. I decided to not post everything he wrote about on the worldwide web.  If you want the real email, just email me. I love Josh's emails because they are definitely him speaking and his experiences.

1) What great exciting thing did you do this week? Honestly, nothing too exciting.

2) What was the last American food you ate? A hamburger in the airport.

3) Tell us about your investigators. Well. they are all super golden but the bishop is being hesitant about approving them for baptism.

4) How hot is it there? Have you ever been this hot? I have never sweated this much at all even during my yoga sessions.

Ni hao. Sorry if this email is super short but not a lot has happened in three days (his Pday last week was on Wed since he went to the temple.). We had a guy accept baptism but the details are still undecided. We have had some frustrating things happen this week. I hope this next week will be better. On the bright side, I saw some bro poop in the middle of the road. My comp was like "let's go" and I was like "hold up, I wanna see if he is for real" and ya know, he did it.... super funny.

Love ya'll.

WEEK 28: Elder Buhler Becomes "Bob the Buillder"!

This week's email came in several emails that I blended together. Not all of it I (mom) thinks I should post on the "world wide web" so if you would like to get a copy of the real email, send me an email.

1.) What do you do as district leader? I report stuff. I'm also the English leader.
2) do you like Chinese food now? I have to.
3) do you teach a lot of discussions? not as many as you would think.

Ja Bab Wei everyone!!! that's  how you jive in Asia!!! Anyways sorry for this email being so late but we took a trip to the temple that is in the other mission.  Basically that was a party. We wake up at 4am and go to the mission home and then take a 3 hour buss to Taipei.  Interesting stuff man.... for sure. I sat the entire time with Elder Noll and  we just chilled. We just talked about high school, friends how Jessi and Jacob are growing up .

So the story about the fire. .... so yes apparently its a bigger deal than I bargained for . Everyone is freaking out but don't worry, my mother has taught me enough about the art of speech craft to switch any argument against them. So i think I'm pretty safe.

I had a conversation with my bishop this week where I told him "the church is a hospital for the sick not a pedestal for the proud." My mission president said he liked my "fire" but he didn't mean the fire I created but actually the fire of my convictions.

Things are cool here.  I did a bunch of service Monday.  We went to this lady to help rearrange her house but I took one look and saw it was a death trap.  I remember what I learned when  I worked for Mike Cutler over the summer so in Chinese I said "give me a  hammer, nails and a ladder." I spent 5 horse fixing holes, windows, and fixing the roof, moving electrical stuff. Man,  I am glad I worked for Mike for a little cause all that stuff him and foreman Corey taught me really came into play . I just wish I had Elder Tarin there cause I always worked better with him there.

My comp, Elder Lai, is native so English is a "no no". We are just speaking Chinese. He likes bball proselyting more than me so we go a lot. Its good.  Congrats to my sister for making Cottonwood's volleyball team!!!

I'm out of time now so love you all.

WEEK 27: Putting Elder Buhler in Charge of the Popcorn was not a Good Idea

Josh apparently missed the "Eagle Scout" lesson on "How to NOT set a fire."

1. What new incredible experiences did you have this week? I have a Taiwanese companion.

2. What is your schedule like daily? Give us details.

6:30, I wake up to hit the alarm and go back to sleep. 7am, I shower. 8-11 are "studies". 12 to 9 is when we go out with a whole mess of love and compassion.

3. What life lessons did you learn this week?
I am never going to complain again. More news to be told.
Hey y'all, whats up?

I got a new comp. He is Taiwanese. I miss Elder McKenzie. He honestly was like my best friend on the mish. I met Elder Corey Edwards from Hurricane. He is going to kick at BYU.  We had a fun time talking about football.

I met this cute 2 year old girl with a hole in her throat.  Man it broke my heart. Y'all have no idea yet still she had a smile on her face.I'm the English leader whatever that means.

Anyways ya I got to be in a 4 man this last move call, but it was awesome. I'm trying to be a good mish and be obedient cause all my comps are so attractive.  Just kidding but ya.

Anyways, they put me in charge of the pop corn making for the ward party... and well, I'll send you a picture of what happened!

I met the mission pres and he is awesome. Honestly, he's  my freaking hero. I would take a bullet for that man. He is so tight always giving me awesome advice and realizing I'm the most spiritual, but ya I love him a lot. He gave me valuable girl advice for the experience I had in the MTC.

Congrats Jacob on getting the presidential 4 year scholarship and ya  Jacob freaking go play soccer bro. I promise you its a thing you will not regret. Well, I miss you all.

Love,

Elder Buhler
