Dear family, well this has
been a good week. I went on exchanges with Elder Tolman who apparently mom knows
his family. He’s a really cool elder from my district. Anyone during our splits
I lost the phone. Now i don't know how much you guys know how much I need the
phone to call everyone for mission related work but yes I lost it. I had to
spend $30 to make calls. My comp and I learning to work together. This week is kind
of short but ya it’s been a good learning time for all. I miss you all. Oh and there has been a riot in Taipei and it’s an
actual riot. Things are intense here. Thanks for everyone's emails. It really cheered me up. I'm trying to be a good missionary. Shout out to Jessi for getting his call to Ecuador and Jenn Fred for getting her call to Czechoslovakia. I can't even spell it. Love you all. Elder Buhler

Week 59: Another Week in the Mission Field
Well first off, congrats to my li’l brother Jacob for being the smartest person in Utah! He honestly deserves everything that is coming to him as far as success goes. He is really making SHS a better place and hopefully the world; really proud of him. Mom and dad’s genes obviously skipped a child ahhha!!
Anyways, this week has been super hard and good. Hard because we had a bunch of new rules introduced to us this week and it has been kinda hard and over whelming honestly.
We had a baptism this week with Kyle. It was pretty cool ‘cause i found him playing basketball - completely basketball proyselyting. I found him last year with Yang and I thought I would never see him again and then bam baptized this last week! I am the Sunbeam teacher for English class and i started to teach them the Star Spangled Banner. It was pretty funny! I love the kids a ton. I played prelude a couple times this week and it was really good, so thanks mom for all the cool sheet music of hymns you sent me. They loved it and were really surprised that i could play piano. Um, nothing new. The sisters baptized a family. There was this activity at the zone meeting about setting goals and they checked who could jump the highest and yes i did jump the highest! Um it’s been a long week signing off.
Kirk out!

Week 58: Fasting Does Work Miracles
Ni hao
everyone!
Well this week has been one of the most
stressful on the entire mish. No joke. Well it’s been full of miracles. We got K to commit to baptism this Thursday.
The power of fasting is actually real. It’s crazy. Every day I have fasted
something super cool has happened.
Sunday for
example I taught the best lesson I have ever taught. I was teaching an atheist.
We talked about everything. I finally
took off my coat and explained how science history fact and the gospel can all
work together I explained new theories and the gospel. I explained history and philosophy. It was
amazing. Honestly i felt like a college teacher. I then asked if he would be
willing to be baptized he said yes in 4 weeks as I teach him. Best moment ever.

** Sorry friends, this week's post had too much personal information about Josh's investigators that I really didn't think we wanted on the web. If you'd like to get a copy of his email, just email me and I'll forward it to you.

Week 57: Investigators are Doing Great!
1. What new thing happened this week? I got a new companion
2. How are your investigators? They are all doing really well.
3. Do you have a new companion? New area? Same area, new companion.
4. What are the biggest miracles you have seen on your mission? Well I feel the change I have had in myself to be honest.
Hey ni hao everyone !!! First off, I just got made senior so I am a late bloomer!! Its been a crazy week. We have been waiting for Elder B to go home!!! Great guy!! Yesterday we went to the church and watched the Emma Smith story... wow! Honestly she is such an amazing woman. I don't care what anyone says she was so strong and I know for a fact i would not be able to go through what she did!! She is so strong!! I feel if anyone had a right to not like the church it was her. She lost everything but I feel a lot of people don't understand her !!
Anyways... this week all of our RCS just decided to show up at church. It was insane. I was so happy. The investigator that I have been working with since last year is progressing !!
I am so happy to have Elder Yang baptize him!!
Lately i have been trying really hard to read in the Book of Mormon everyday and Preach My Gospel. The latter is hard for me just because its so boring but Elder Case from back home invited me to it so I love being able to follow one of his invites.
I honestly love reading the Book of Mormon. We went to the temple this week and it was fun seeing Elder Noll and chilling with him . The new temple movie was amazing. You should all see it when you are married and ready to go but it was awesome!!! Eell hey I know that was a whole spiritual over load.
So I think something funny that I did was we went to Chili's... ah man it as a pretty penny but so worth it ... ranch dressing is so good..... um well honestly nothing else new has happened.
I look forward to the day when i can see you all again but till then I must as they say in every Joseph Smith movie "press forward..."

Week 56: Great Exchange, Great Mission Conference, Great Week
Ni hao so I get to email for an hour so I have like 15 min left so here is this.So here's my week. I had an awesome exchange with my cousin Elder Scot McKenzie!! It was so much fun!!! We rescued F.X's lil bro.
Before that President is making face book missionaries and I told him to not let me do that because O honestly don't trust my self with that and I feel I could do better out side. Our golden guy passed his interview that McKenzie but then decided he did not want to be baptized but I am working on that. so pray for that.
I met with this guy named Miguel who is trying to out smart us with philosophy. Little did he know I studied that too. He was like Fredrick Walsh said this and I was like but Socrates and Plato said this and he said I thought you were a physics major and I was like i do it all.... so he is super willing to learn so I love it. I actually took the lead with the guy because he was an intelligent guy. It was awesome. Anyways we had Bishop Stephenson come. His son is in our mish and it was cool to hear form him. He is actually a funny guy . He taught some really cool things about inviting people to do stuff more often and listen to the spirit. He told us to be exactly like Presdient Blickenstaff .
Anyways... i got to see Noll, Robson, Zani , Eoumbote an elder who knew Tyson McDaniel's. It was a good time. I honestly love seeing Elder Noll. We started talking about how Cook and Pucket were getting married and how insane that was.
THE HIGH LIGHT OF THE WEEK.
Ok so those of you who know I have been interested in either flying or doing film and so I have been praying about that and this week I ran into this business guy who looked like he might tear me apart but then i asked him what he used to do and he said he flew and I was like oh cool I wanna be a astronaut. He was like I flew for NASA. I test flew for NASA so we started talking and man oh man it was crazy. it was insane and so cool talking to him and then I asked him well what do you need to become a test pilot. I also spoke with Elder Wesselman about Air Force too. I would love to play for them.
We are going to the temple on Wednesday.

Elder on wednesday.

Week 55: "I'm a Mormon!"
Ni hao everyone!!!
Well this week has been a crazy one for sure!!! So I found out my MRI is going to be completely free paid for by the ROC government. So awesome!!! I actually today swore off speaking English and signed a contract because Elder Christensen who just went home today who is from Salem Hill. I just feel no one is worth talking to in my native speak anymore hahaha. So I will speak Chinese to help improve it till i go home in December!!! Anyways Elder C and I were teaching a miracle lesson!! 7 months ago when I was last in this area Elder yang and I found this man while playing basketball and we got really close but i didn't know if this guy was ok with learning the gospel and then I moved and I was really super sad. I heard he was almost baptized and then fell through. Flash forward to this last week Elder C and I met with him and committed him to baptism. He asked straight up "Elder Buhler did you give up football to come on a mission?" and I said "ya and man do I love football." He was like taken a back. He is to be baptized in 2 weeks. Next to my first RC this guy is my favorite person ever! His family doesn't really like the church but I told him about some of my friends not agreeing wiht me leaving on a mish and I told him how my mom had the same problem but I then quoted the one and only Gordon B Hinckley and said "oh everything will work out". So ya, I'm pumped about that. I had an awesome exchange with Elder C we stayed up just talking about how this year had been with each other and how much we are going to miss each other. He gave me his jade ring and translator that has 13 different languages!!! I bought him a hobbit comic in Chinese!! To top it all off, I accompanied him in "Abide With Me Tis Eventide!!" Jacob, brush up on the piano!! It was one of the most rewarding this to be able to play with such a great voice . It was awesome. Then last night, we watched the Joseph Smith movie with investigators. It was pretty good. i got chills listening to the sound track. So if anyone has it send it my way. I got really mad thinking about how they were abused especially in a country that was founded for religious freedom. I may not agree with everything and know everything but i would say i would stand up and say "I'm a Mormon." Well anyways I'm doing that speak only Chinese thing its hard and well pray for me!! Also two nights ago we climbed to the top of the church at night and oh man we saw the whole city. It was beautiful!!! it is one of those feelings that really rocks your soul! Pictures will come. Love you all and miss you and can't wait till I will see you all again.
Love you all,
Elder Buhler

Week 54: Becoming a Better MIssionary
Ni hao everyone! Finally guo nian is over! It actually has a lot of the pass over traditions. We haven't taught any lessons because everyone has been on vacation for Chinese New Year.
Recently we received a talk about being a consecrated missionary and I am excited about the idea of seeing how hard I can push my self. I read the talk "Blueprint of the Church" which I also enjoyed reading. I'm trying to think of anything cool lately. Well last night I had salsa. We have been visiting the cancer patients and giving blessings and singing to them so that's been nice. We also have been climbing some tall buildings. More lessons should be coming up more cause Guo Nian is over. So ya I will keep you posted. I miss you all. I have a cool companion.
